Snap Mail’s talk feature allows you to teleconference with other users in real time. To bring up the SnapTalk window, click on the “Talk” button.
The SnapTalk window replaces the Snap Mail main window. This allows you to use SnapTalk while you are using other applications.
• Talking to Others
You can choose the users you would like to talk with by selecting them from the User List in the talk window or by choosing a group from the pop-up menu. Any names followed by a diamond are not available for talking because either their computers are off or they have turned off their AppleTalk connections.
Type the text of your message into the OutBox and then click on the “Send” button or press Cmd-Enter or Cmd-Return. Your message will appear on the talk screen of all the users you have selected. Users who do not have their talk screens up will receive an alert telling them that they are being called.
You can use shift-click to add or remove users from your talk circle. Only users selected in the User List at the time of sending will see your message and only they will know who else was sent your message.
• Responding to a SnapTalk request
When someone sends you a talk message, an alert box will appear and the phone sound will be played. To respond to the talk request, simply open Snap Mail and click on the “Talk” button. You will see the message in the InBox and the sender’s name will already be selected in the User List so that you can immediately start typing your reply.
• Exiting SnapTalk
Clicking on the “Done” button will return you to the Snap Mail main window. You can choose “Quit” from the Snap menu if you want to exit Snap Mail directly from SnapTalk.
